The project contains a number of iron ore deposits including four key prospects; Sequoia, Sequoia East, St Andrews and Ibis.
Sequoia is the most advanced of the prospects. It lies close to rail infrastructure only 25 km from the Adelaide-Darwin railway line and 50 km from the Permian coal deposits of Lake Phillipson. Ground work by S.A. Dept of Mines (“PIRSA”) has delineated a pre-JORC resource of 22 million tonnes of magnetite grading 28.4%Fe. PIRSA reported that the deposit comprised of magnetite banded iron formation that is readily beneficiated to 70.3% Fe. PIRSA also suggested many of the intersections are anomalous in gold. The importance of co-credits from by-product elements is demonstrated in the Cairn Hill deposit but has been largely ignored at Sequoia to date.
Previous exploration has revealed magnetic anomalies at the Ibis and Sequoia East prospects. Ibis is 35km west of Sequoia and is interpreted to have two magnetic units with thicknesses of 80 and 105m and a depth to target of 80m. Sequoia East, located 9km
east of Sequoia, is a strong magnetic anomaly across an area of 3.5km by 0.8km. Four magnetic zones have been defined with the most prominent having a modelled strike of 350m, a width of 110m and a depth to target of 85m.
